APIDA Heritage Month Event Proposal Guidelines
Howdy!
Thank you for your interest in hosting an event for this year's APIDA Heritage Month (AHM). Held in April, AHM is a time to celebrate and amplify the voices of students in the Asian Pacific Islander Desi American (APIDA) community. AHM at Texas A&M University allows students the opportunity to engage in festivities and educational programs before the end of the semester. The month is coordinated by the Asian Presidents’ Council (APC).
Our theme for this year is “Nurture Your Nature”. It is the idea to express our authentic selves and embrace who we are. We chose this theme because we believe that nurturing the APIDA Aggie Community’s culture, identity, and heritage will help us to unite and strengthen our community, grow and develop an understanding of our history, and reflect on our personal experiences.
We chose this theme because we want to show the diverse and rich culture and resilience of the APIDA Aggie community and remind our community to take care of themselves. Through this, we hope to unite and strengthen our community, educate and develop an understanding of our history, reflect on our personal experiences, and thus, embrace our authentic selves to actively create progress for our Texas A&M community.
We invite you to participate in AHM by hosting an event or program. In previous years, events, centered around previous AHM themes and hosted by student organizations and departments, have included:
