TAMU Clinic for Advanced Literacy Studies - Reading Tutoring Fall 2021 Interest Survey
The Texas A&M University Clinic for Advanced Literacy Studies is housed in the Department of Teaching, Learning, and Culture.  Historically known as the TAMU Reading Clinic, which began providing services in 2001, our reading tutoring has served K-12 aspiring readers from the community and beyond in both its on-campus location and virtually.  The Clinic for Advanced Literacy Studies will be operating in person and virtually (via Zoom) for FALL 2021.

CALS reading tutoring is supported by trained pre-service teachers, comprised of both undergraduate and graduate students. Each K-12 student served by CALS will receive assessments, careful review of their needs, evidence-based interventions tailored to the needs of the child, and progress monitoring to actively encourage improvements. The services will be provided with the approval and guidance from the Texas A&M University Research Compliance Office and faculty review. Our goals are to improve literacy for all children.

For the FALL semester, there will be a tuition for all students:

Assessments:
Intake screening: $50 (required for all students)
Dyslexia assessment: $150 (available upon request, conditions apply)

Tutoring:
$25 per session x 12 sessions = $300

Assessments will begin the week of September 13 and tutoring will commence subsequently. The sessions will continue through November 19, 2021.  While we will be assessing upon request and screener results for dyslexia, at this time, our tutoring will not be a specific dyslexia program.
