South Texas Beef and Forage Field Day

About this event

  • 7 hours

Dear Industry Partner,

Texas A&M AgriLife County Extension Agents from Atascosa, Bee, Goliad, Jim Wells, Karnes, Live Oak, McMullen, Nueces, Refugio, and San Patricio Counties, along with Dr. Jamie Foster from the Texas AgriLife Research Station in Beeville and AgriLife Beef Specialist Dr. Karl Harborth, Corpus Christi have teamed up and planned the inaugural 2024 South Texas Beef and Forage Field Day. The Field Day will take place on May 8, 2024, from 9am – 3pm in Beeville and we are asking our Industry Partners to help us make this a special educational and hopefully re-occurring Field Day for our Coastal Bend and South Texas beef and forage Producers.

Our morning sessions will be held at the Twisted Ranch Events and Design, 3360 Hwy 59, Beeville where we will hear from several of our AgriLife Specialists from Corpus Christi discuss weed management, beef and hay economic outlook, wildlife habitat considerations, and conclude with a Producer panel discussing what adaptability means to South Texas livestock production. We will eat lunch and move across the highway to the Research Station 3507 Hwy 59 E and talk about cow adaptability and grazing, livestock supplementation strategies, link of carbon and water to forage production and brush control. Again, we hope you will consider helping us with this educational event.
