Lightning has been detected within eight miles of the Clayton W. Williams, Jr. Alumni Center. All guests are encouraged to seek shelter in their vehicles, inside the University Center Garage or at the MSC. Aggie Ring Day has been paused for at least 30 minutes. If another lighting strike is detected within eight miles, the 30-minute delay will restart. This page will be updated when Aggie Ring distribution resumes.

The possibility of dangerous weather conditions on Friday, Nov. 11, has compelled us to modify Aggie Ring Day events. The most current updates will be added to this page. Please make the best Aggie Ring Day plans for your group.

Aggie Ring Day: Friday, Nov. 11

  • Aggies may still pick up their Aggie Rings at the Clayton W. Williams, Jr. Alumni Center on Friday, Nov. 11. Delivery will begin on schedule — however, Friday's distribution may be delayed if dangerous weather moves into the area.

    • Please consider the impact of stormy weather on your guests, especially those with health and mobility concerns. We encourage Aggie Ring recipients to consider picking up their Aggie Rings alone and then leaving to celebrate elsewhere.
    • Do not arrive early.
    • All Aggie Park activities have been canceled.
    • In accordance with university protocols, if lightning is detected within eight miles of the Williams Alumni Center, Aggie Ring delivery will pause for at least 30 minutes. Guests will be asked to take shelter in their cars or at the MSC. At every lightning strike, the 30-minute delay will reset. Once the lightning has passed, Aggie Ring delivery will resume with the group number where we left off.
    • Shuttle bus service from West Campus Garage will still be available, but it will also pause according to our delays. The Williams Alumni Center pick-up and drop-off points have been moved closer to the building. In the case of a delay, shuttle buses will continue to run until the last group's Aggie Ring delivery is complete.

Alternate Delivery Option: Thursday, Nov. 10

Aggie Ring recipients (no guests) are invited to pick up their Aggie Rings at the Clayton W. Williams, Jr. Alumni Center today (Thursday, Nov. 10) from 2-4 p.m. to avoid tomorrow's storms. With your Aggie Ring in hand, we encourage you to celebrate safely with friends and family throughout the weekend.

  • No guests will be permitted inside the Williams Alumni Center today.
  • Bring at least two forms of ID. Approved forms of ID include your driver's license, student ID, passport or printed Aggie Ring receipt.
  • Ring recipients do not need to make an appointment or modify their original ticket selection. Arrive anytime within the delivery window.

Although we often have continued Aggie Ring delivery at the Williams Alumni Center during light rain, predictions for Friday include the possibility of up to 40 mph winds, heavy rain and lightning strikes in the vicinity of the Alumni Center. Because we value the safety of everyone involved, throughout the scheduled hours of our event, it would be irresponsible of us to ignore those warnings and deliver Aggie Rings as usual while thousands of people are exposed to the elements outside our building.

The decision to modify Friday's activities was made in consultation with the Texas A&M Emergency Management Team and is based on the best available information from the chief meteorologist at KBTX.

We congratulate you on your accomplishment, and we thank you for your understanding. If weather or other developments compel us to make any other changes, we will communicate them via email as well as on our website, AggieNetwork.com, and on @AggieNetwork social media.
